Electrostatic Interactions
and Biophysics
April 30 - May 2,
2004
The workshop will focus on the role of electrostatic interaction in biophysics. It will address the
challenging theoretical problems of the strong Coulomb interaction, such as screening in the presence
of strong correlations, charge inversion, attraction of likely charged objects, and reentrant condensation
in systems of oppositely charged macroions. Applications of these problems to gene therapy and the structure of
chromatin and viruses will be the center of attention.
The
workshop will be held at the Radisson Hotel Metrodome. Further details can be found on the program page.
