The "Low-Dimensional Quantum Gases out of Equilibrium" workshop will be held at the Mayo Memorial Auditorium (MMA) on the East Bank of the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities campus. The MMA is within walking distance of the workshop hotel as well as the Fine Theoretical Physics Institute. Click HERE to view the workshop map.
The main avenue through campus, Washington Ave, is closed due to lightrail construction. Please double check any routes or directions you might have in order to avoid delays. Click HERE for the most current campus maps.
Getting from the Minneapolis/St. Paul (MSP) Airport to Campus:
Ground transportation information provided by the Minneapolis St. Paul International airport can be found HERE.
Shuttle service, SuperShuttle, is available on the ground transportation level of the airport. The cost of a one-way trip from/to the airport by shuttle is usually around $18. It is possible to purchase a round-trip fare upon arrival. *Reservations for the return trip to the airport must be made 24 hours in advance of travel by calling 1-800-BLUE-VAN.*
Taxi service is also available to and from the airport. Travel time from the airport to the hotels by taxi is 20-30 minutes and the average cost is $50.
Light rail is available to and from both MSP terminals through Metro Transit. You will need to make a transfer to a bus heading east from the Metrodome Station if you choose take the light rail. From the Metrodome light rail station, bus numbers 16 and 50 serve the University.
Car rental is not necessary or even very practical for workshop participants staying at the University Hotel Minneapolis. Parking is limited and expensive; buses and shuttles are readily available.
Participation in the event is by invitation only. We welcome and encourage participation by graduate students. Please contact us with any questions at disequilibrium (at) physics.umn.edu. |
