We are very pleased to announce the 4th "Physics of the Intracluster Medium: Theory and Computation" workshop hosted by the William I. Fine Theoretical Physics Institute at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities and co-sponsored by the Michigan Center for Theoretical Physics in Ann Arbor and the Niels Bohr International Academy in Copenhagen. The event will take place August 22-24, 2016 in Minneapolis.
The workshop will bring together researchers who share overlapping interests in the physics and dynamics of ICMs. Expected topics include such issues as shocks, cold fronts and turbulence in the ICM; the evolution, amplification and consequences of ICM magnetic fields; non-thermal particles, their generation and emissions; the coupling between AGN outflows and the ICM; microphysical, plasma processes and their roles in ICMs.
Participation is by invitation only. We welcome participation of graduate students. Please contact us with any questions by email at ICM2016 (at) physics.umn.edu.
